Behind the Eight Ball

Sometimes what is happening in your life ends up in your painting, but hopefully it is there with your humor intact. With this economy, life can be a financial struggle and one can end up here, "Behind the Eight Ball". It is not really that bad but it makes for a great image and a fun title. For some - just make lemonade is the trick, for me it is always - just make art. This is another in the "Painting a Day Series" with the same dimensions as the others. It can be yours by email me first at greigsart@comcast.net . If you want to see more of my artwork, be sure to visit www.greigleach.com

She Is Miles Away

As well as walking out into the garden, or pulling images from my memory, I regularly work from the model in local sketch groups. These groups are an excellent way to afford a model (necessary whenever you want to create figurative work). This is yet another in the "Painting a Day Series" and can be yours for the price of $95.00 by being the first to email me at greigsart@comcast.net. This title comes from the slightly altered perspective that makes her head and upper torso look so much further away than her arms and legs.

I Am Against Pasta

I'm sorry to admit that I am a big fan of puns. If you think about this image of antipasta the title will make sense to you, at least it does to me. My father loved a great pun, which was determined by the quality and length of the groan that followed the pun. How long did you groan? This is another of the works of art in the "Painting a Day Series" and can be yours for $95.00 if you are the first to email me at greigsart@comcast.net. As always you can learn more about my art career at www.greigleach.com Remember, fine art is a lifetime investment and a lifetime of pleasure.

Simple and Sweet

I am a big fan of the work of Wayne Thiebaud and early on lifted many of his visual ideas (as well as subject matter) to create my work. I have move on from there but still create pieces like this one that bere homage to one of my favorites. This title comes from the simplicity of the composition and from the simple joy of eating such tasty bon-bons. This is another in the "Painting a Day Series" and is an orginal oilsticks painting. To purchase this piece of art, be the first to email me at greigsart@comcast.net and commit to the $95.00 price tag. Morning Star

I am in NYC and love all of the corner flower stalls, I have been using them as sources for some of my large scale works (visit http://www.greigleach.com/) and find them excellent sources for out of season flower images. This title has more to do with the background yellows than anything else. This is an original oilstick painting on 100% rag paper and can be yours by emailing me first at greigsart@comcast.net for the very small price of $95.00. Thanks for your interest and be sure to check back everyday to see what is next. Greig Leach

Portrait of an Artist as a Green Banana

Okay this is an obscure St. Patrick's Day reference. The title of this painting is a play on the title of James Joyce's book, "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man". James Joyce is an Irish author, ergo this is an Irish painting. Or it was the green banana that makes it appropiate for the day. This is an original oilstick painting, it is on 100% rag paper, it fits in a 16"x20" matte with an 11"x14" opening.
It will be sold to the first emailer to greigsart@comcast.net for only $95.00.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
Did I just see a snake?

Nocturnal Slice

Another in the "Painting a Day" series. Pies and pasteries are some of my favorite images to paint (and I don't mind eating them as well). This titled comes from the dark background to the painting (that and I love to have a dessert before I go to bed - I am eating rice pudding right now).
This is an original oilstick painting created on 100% rag paper that will fit nicely in a 16"x20" matte with a 11"x14" window opening. This painting can be purchase for $95.00 by emailing me first at greigsart@comcast.net. If you want to learn more about my artwork and art career go to www.greigleach.com
